What is considered a passing result for the Hirschberg corneal reflex test?

The reflection is off-center in both pupils

The reflection is centered in each pupil or slightly toward the nose and in the same place in each pupil

The key idea is that the Hirschberg corneal light reflex checks how well the eyes are aligned by watching where the light reflection lands on each cornea. When a person looks straight ahead, the reflection should fall in the same location on both eyes. If it’s centered in each pupil (or centered slightly toward the nose) and the two reflections line up in the same place, that means the eyes are pointing together and the alignment is normal. If the reflection is off-center in one eye, or only one eye shows a reflection, or the reflection isn’t visible at all, that suggests a misalignment or poor fixation and would be considered not passing.
